Preparing for Portugal by the Pacific

My first trip to San Francisco was during my Freshman Spring Break. We undertook a journey from the East coast to the West and back in 2 weeks. I returned this year (2012) with the Williams College Gospel Choir. We sing, we minister, and we perform community service. The added personal element of this experience, through which this blog was created, has proven to be too vast and powerful to describe in words. The basic principle is that I was hoping that this trip would help me prepare for my long awaited (8 years) return to Portugal. I have been very blessed and would like to share some of the pictures that represent my love for the ocean, and the nostalgia for my family, friends, and country.

It is my belief that the the World is fundamentally Good. As a new blogger, it is my hope to project an insightful, and introspective perspective of my own being, that would otherwise take a lifetime of deep friendship to explain. Here, I begin with the first of various pictures, that all relate to the main theme of this blog "Beyond the Horizon", which touches on concepts varying from identity, self-awareness, diasporic existence, and the portuguese word "saudade".
